Providence upsets Pittsburgh

I know that this game doesn't include an Arkansas team, but this is a huge game. Providence, who needed this win to get into the NCAA Tournament. And on the other side is Pittsburgh, who is #1 in the USA Today and AP poll, #2 in my poll. Providence ended a 2 game losing streak with this win. Providence came out in the 1st half on fire and led 44-26 at halftime. In the 2nd half Pitt played a bit better and cut the lead as close as 7. Providence's scoring leader was Weyinmi Efejuku with 16 points, 3 rebounds and shot 33% from both the field and from behind the ark. DeJuan Blair led for the Panthers with 17 points, 8 rebounds and shot 66%. Blair fouled out with an illegal screen with 45 seconds left in the game.

UALR Coach dismisses Moore from UALR Basketball Team

Moore was suspended from the UALR Basketball Team Monday morning. Moore was the team's scoring leader this season. "I met with Steve this morning and have decided in the best interest of our basketball team to move forward without him. We appreciate Steve's contributions over the last three years and wish him the best going forward." says UALR Head Coach, Steve Shields, "With us being in a race for the overall conference championship, we have a big week ahead of us with games against New Orleans and Louisiana-Lafayette. I know how excited our guys are about the challenge in front of us." Shields also said he'd be leaning more on freshmen Curtis Jackson and Lionel Foster to fill in Moore's minutes. The two played more than usual in the West Division clincher in Denton, TX.
